World-class fishing may be found in the waters surrounding Kodiak Island. In fact, there was a
200 pound halibut caught just a stone's throw off our beach last summer!! King Salmon swim past our lodge from May through September, and Coho (Silver Salmon) are abundant
from early August till early September. Beginning October
1st, we will be offering un-guided fly fishing for Steelhead on the Karluk River. Anglers will live aboard the F/V Sea Walker.
Call us to arrange your own Alaskan salmon or halibut fishing adventure!

Sneakers, for walking around camp/your cabin

We will provide all necessary spinning gear & halibut gear. We also provide all boots and raingear, just be sure to give us a list of your party's sizes ahead of time. We do not have
any fly-fishing gear, as there are no freshwater systems near us; however, fly-out
fly fishing trips can be arranged, with or without guides.
Upon making a deposit & receiving confirmation of your trip, we then advise that you contact one of the air taxi services listed on our "Rates"
page, who will be more than happy to arrange your flight out to Alderwood Retreat. We would greatly
encourage you to plan a bear-viewing trip
in conjunction with your flight. After all, when will you have another opportunity to see the incredible Kodiak Brown Bear in its natural environment?
